As a child I lived in New Zealand for a year. We played hide-and-seek in the orchards of peaches, plums and asian pears and down by the river. I loved the glittering rocks, geodes and crystals that danced in the sunlight. We moved back to Colorado and I attended a Steiner Waldorf school that nurtured my love of creativity and making things with my hands. Theatre was a big part of my class. It took me to Marymount Manhattan where I studied Costume Design. I love the fanciful side of costuming and I bring that out in my design. Having visited 17 countries before I was 12, I understand the importance of cultural identity. What you see here is mine. These are treasures that I have collected over time. This is how I see the world. Completely self taught, my designs reveal themselves as I work. I'm inspired by natural materials and give them a modern twist with my tools.
